Plane the deck beam so that it is flush with the rails and plane the edge of the rails between the deck beam and the stem so that the foredeck will sit evenly across the top. The object is to get the foredeck to lay evenly over the stem, rails, sides and deckbeam. Once it all is planed, apply adhesive and nail it with 1 inch nails.
