Hands-On!: Building and Launching the Trebuchet

.As part of a hands-on science project, the apprentices built two trebuchets, otherwise known as counter-weight trebuchets or siege engines. ASF volunteer Maura came up with and directed the project. Round water balloons were filled, frozen, and cut away so that the balls could be ecologically launched into the Potomac River. See Flickr for more images.
